Rano Raindang River is located in the north side of Leilem Village, Minahasa District, North Sulawesi. The flow direction of this river is from south to north into the Celebes Sea. Based on this flows direction, it is predicted that the source of the river is coming from Linow Lake.
We can find many hot springs around Rano Raindang river, and the temperature of the hot springs can reach up to 90oC and the pH is around 1-3. The Community of Leilem Raya Village, utilize the hot springs for thermal baths by mixing the water of the hotsprings with the water from the river which is far more colder and more neutral pH.

So far, no tourism supporting facilities such as guardrails, public thermal bath infrastructure- based on health and safety, café or diner , and nor a good road access that have been installed yet. But, the UGM Student Community Empowerment SLU-02 (Tim KKN PPM UGM SLU-02 TA 2015-2016) has designed and installed the information billboards about Rano Raindang River and geothermal manifestation around it, so besides enjoying the scenery and taking pictures, the visitors can also learn about geothermal. Visitors with sensitive skin are advised not to touch the acidic hot springs.
Beside Raino Raindang River, there are many other rivers at Minahasa District Watershed. Such as Aer Perang, Aer Tembaga, Girian, Sondaken, Tasik Oki, Kema atau Sawangan, Lilang, Makalisung, Tinggian, Wulo, Tulaun, Kawis, Ranowangko, Kamenti, Pakaretan, Pinanungean, Atep, Parentek, Tarandi, Karor, Makali, Molompar, Basan, Totok/Ratatotok and Buyat river which has flow direction from west to the east.
Madidi, Batu, Tiwoho, Marowuwung, Kokole, Likupang, Maen, Pangisang, Marinsou, Kalinanon, Sapiran, Araran, Walang itang, Tawua dan Batuh Putih river which has flow direction from south to the north.
And Toudano/Temberan, Mapanget, Paniki, Kima, Talawaan, Tinanuman dan Wale-ne Rumbia, Tikala, Sariwo, Sendangan, Saluesem/Salusem, Sapa, Malalayang, Rano-Repet, Tateli, Mokupa, Tambala, Paniki dan Ranowangko, Mangetasi, Rona, Poopo, Kumu, Kilat, Popareng, Kekelor dan Sapalalum, Nimanga, Rano-Tuana/Tumpaan,Pentu,Rano Mea dan Ranowangko, Ranoiapo,Liwason,Moinit, Tongop,Lolowing,Molinou,Sidate,Ongkau and Poiga River which has flow direction from east to the west.
