Geothermal utilization on Aquaculture

AquacultureAquaculture is a form of life in the water for the cultivation of the species in a controlled manner. Cultivation temperature control for aquatic species become more important than terrestrial species. In which the tendency of the growth curve aquatic species and on land species is very different. By maintaining the optimum temperature, we can cultivate rare species, improve production and even double the reproductive cycle. Commonly cultivated species are shrimp, lobster, crab, oysters, carp, salmon, eel, oysters, etc.

 Temperature effect

The effect of temperature on the growth of animals (From Bella and Samuels, 1971).

The temperature required for aquatic species are in the range of 20 – 30oC. The size of the installation will depend on the temperature of the geothermal source, the temperature required in the fish ponds and the heat lost in the pond.
