Air Madidi Geothermal Prospect is located in North Minahasa Regency. This area can be reached approximately 50 km to the southeast from Manado City. Speculative geothermal potential of this area is predicted to reach 25 MW.
Air Madidi area is located at a volcanic landform which is covered by Quaternary andesite and tuff. Geothermal manifestations such as hot springs that appear in this volcanic environment are controlled by NW-SE and SW-NE trending normal and horizontal faults. The heat source is estimated to come from the volcanic activity of Mount Klabat. Hot water from Air Madidi Geothermal Field is classified as chloride water.
